Bytech Interviews: Coming to the Bytech Forums starting 2007.

Quick Update
Denis Hamel has been really busy this year, and we're looking at catching up with him right around the time of our February interview with Jennifer Coy. By March, hopefully everything will be back on schedule!

What are they?
Bytech Interviews are your best chance at fame. Okay, maybe I should classify that as the best case scenario... Realistically, they are just one of many ways to help establish yourself as a leader in your industry. If you've ever read a magazine, you probably already seen interviews similar to those we will conduct.

We'll ask questions about yourself, how you got to where you are today, what makes your job exciting, what makes you want to quit it on bad days, etc, etc. Of course, some juicy personal questions will be asked too. Don't worry, as the Americans say, you can always "Plead the 5th".

Questions will be custom tailored to each individual going through the interview. And no, you can't see them ahead of time. This is about you, unplugged and uncensored.

What should I expect?
Expect to have fun and get some exposure. If the interview itself isn't fun and interesting for yourself and us, no one else is going to read the transcript.

How will the interview be conducted?
Right now we're looking at using an Instant Messenger like Skype, ICQ, or MSN. We want you to be where ever you're most comfortable, but at the same time we want quick, on the spot answers. If we do it by Email, the temptation will be to polish the answers, and as we already mentioned we want the unplugged and uncensored you. If needed, we'll help you get going with an Instant Messenger. You're also welcome to have someone with you that types on your behalf.

Phone could work as a last resort, but than you have to wait for us to type everything while you wait. As a result, the flow will suffer.

So what happens after the interview?
The completed interview will be posted on the Bytech Forums in the Business section. You can link to it, brag to your friends about it, or simply use it as a method of helping individuals in need of your product or service connect with yourself. All your contact info will be published with the interview. This will include bank account numbers, and the Social Insurance Number. Unless of course, you'd rather skip a few details. biggrin.gif

I want to get interviewed. What now?
Contact myself, and I'll add you to the list of upcoming interviews. We hope to do an interview every month or so, starting January 2007. You'll need a brief bio, something catchy preferably. Give us some fodder that allows us to get to know you enough so we can ask the right questions, but not too much info. If you give it all to us ahead of time, it'll be hard to conduct the interview. smile.gif

I have a question regarding the interviews...
Best thing for you to do is register here on the forums and reply to this post with your question. This allows others to benefit from the answer without me having to repeat it. Of course, registration is free, and only takes a couple of minutes. Alternatively, Email me at sla+wek+@+by+tech.ca (remove plus signs).

Upcoming Interviews
January: we'll have Denis Hamel, CIM, PMgr. join us for our first interview. Mr. Hamel is the Chief Growth Manager with mymoneymagnets.com .

February, Jennifer Coy from the Centum Bay Hill Mortgage Ltd. is joining us.

In March we have Leo Deurbrouck from AccuData Accounting. We'll be sure to get some last minute tax tips from Leo.

April we'll talk to Pete Gryschuk from the hottest Winnipeg Start-up, winnipegwebtv.com

Those interested in being interviewed should drop me a line via PM (free 2 minute registration), Email, or carrier pigeon. What ever works for you, contact me. Right now we're booking interviews for March and April.

Um, that sounds a bit sarcastic? smile.gif Maybe because it's not really a new idea?
(like your new sig)

I would never use sarcasism over a chat forum. It's one of those crazy internet ettiquette laws that I try to never break.

Have you ever heard the saying "If I have never seen it before then it's new to me". I have never seen an idea like this before so it's new to me. smile.gif

Sarcasm over the Internet is fun. smile.gif
Anyway, wasn't sure if I should be defending the interviews idea, or saying thank you. A thank you seems to be in order, so here it goes: "Thank you for the compliment". And yeah, originality is the art of concealing your sources. smile.gif

We've confirmed the February spot, and added March and April guests to the list (see original post). Anything we schedule at this point for May or after is hypothetical. If things go well in the first four months, we'll continue the feature. On the other hand, if no one is having any fun, we'll have to look at other possibilities. smile.gif

Got a bio from Denis a while back, but due to the fact that I need to do a phone interview with him, I've been putting it off. Jen is out of town and I still need her bio. lol. I need to get into the swing of this, and it'll all go a lot smoother. smile.gif
