The forums have been upgraded with the newest CAPTCHA system. This should significantly reduce the amount of spam flooding the boards. It just got to be too much, and waiting for IPB3.0 was not really an option.

Ah, and also, sigs for members with less than 20 posts will not show until such a level is reached. For now, the limitation only exists on the default skin, but that is all that spammers care about anyway.

They found a way through the CAPTCHA on my SMF install too. That was yesterday.
I've pretty much given up on automated systems for now. I've forced all new registrations to wait for administrator approval before they can post. Basically anything that routes overseas never gets activated. If I'm in doubt of legitimacy, I can email confirmation that it's a human at the address before approving. A bit of a pain in the butt all around, BUT beats someone sex spamming our site at 2am Saturday and not getting caught 'til Monday morning. -------------------- |

Do try reCaptcha for it's live: imaging system is updated so when someone cracks it, you will get an auto-update.
