At last it is here, BlogSync 1.0 Beta. This free release will allow your forum members to add a link in their post profile to their latest blog entry. Screenshot, download link, and full details on how you can support this release are available at http://www.bytech.ca/downloads/ .

Special thanks go to LazyJim for his Quick-n-Dirty RSS parser on which this plug in is based. How is this a plug in and not a mod? BlogSync should survive all IPB upgrades.

We'd love to hear your feedback right here in this thread, and hope you'll enjoy our latest release!

Did you need to alter anything to get it to work with 2.2.x?

Mocha 1.2 is a total re-write from past versions. Didn't have to be (I think), but since it was my first skin, I wanted to do things right.... so there are a few fixes to problems I didn't even know were there (due to 'improper' modding techniques).

As such, the whole thing took about 8 hours to convert. I will get to the Licht skin soon, really. smile.gif

I added it today and I keep getting an error when the task runs that says "Cannot locate: /home/calivc/public_html/forums/sources/tasks/blogsync.rss"

At the chance of stating the obvious, did you confirm that the blogsync.rss is indeed on the remote server, and that it is all in lower case?

As far as your blog entry goes, I've seen this before: the CDATA line (shows up in stats bar when you hover over it). From the looks of it, you are trying to syndicate from a forum, and not a blog? Maybe drop the line of the addy of the site with the feed, and I will see if I can figure out if it is something that needs to be fixed in the BlogSync code, or if we need to hookup to a different addy.

Sorry, it was late and I didn't do a very good job of explaining. Yes, there is no blogsync.rss file. Was it supposed to be in that file that I downloaded from here or is it something that is supposed to be included with the Invision stuff already?

The blog there I am trying to pull from an Invision forum blog at http://www.aboutgbs.com/forums/blog/smallb...uelie/index.php?

Heath, looking at your feed, it has some extra info in it that we're not parsing out. No idea what it is for, and if there are different types of things we'd need to worry about depending on the case. So as of now, this appears to be a problem with blogsync, that is as long as the extra (and unusual) info in your feed is normal. I'll do so more digging, will keep you posted.

Just download the file from http://www.bytech.ca/downloads/ ... It's in the package.

Looking into it. It's been a while since I've unpacked or configured this baby. smile.gif
